The Screenwriters: The writing duo of D. Tina Batten & Jean Louis bring a fresh voice to the contemporary Christian film industry. We make strides to break barriers and cross genres while staying true to our Christian values. Combined we’ve been writing, producing, and directing projects for over twenty years in the industry. It’s hard to find individuals with the same mindset, passion, and fervency. Together we make a great team. A power team!

The Overview: “The Christmas Donor” is a Christmas story full of love and loving characters. It is an upbeat story between Auhsey and Marcus who find love in a special way. Auhsey, owner of an upscale beauty salon is hosting her first annual Christmas party at her late grandmother's house. Auhsey is in the final stage of processing her grandmother's death, the stage of acceptance. She feels ready to move forward with her life when Marcus, the love interest who is hired to help Auhsey move into her inherited home, immerses himself into her life. It all comes crashing down at the Christmas party when she finds out Marcus is not who he says he is. Sickness also has hit her doorstep again when Auhsey finds out Nai, her mentee has kidney disease, and is in dire need of a kidney transplant. Auhsey and Marcus take it upon themselves to find a donor and reunite the love that sparked their fondness before it’s too late. Tonally, the film should be a collision of different genres: comedy, romance, and drama.

The funds raised will be used for: Funds raised will provide us the opportunity to make the film in its entire vision without cutting corners while bringing awareness of  Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) to the community. Currently we are in pre-production. In order for this project to move into the production stage and provide a fair wage we need to raise  $78,750.  That will cover cinematographer, rental equipment, Insurance, cast, crew and craft services. The remaining $22,000 will be used for post-production editing, score and the ability to submit to a few prominent film festivals.
